A Senior Photo Location With Plenty of Variety

One of my favorite things about Heard Farm for senior pictures is how many different looks we can create without spending the session driving between locations.

We started around the more wooded areas and greenery before making our way through the wildflowers and tall grasses. As the sun got lower, we finished in the open fields where we caught that warm September golden light.

Her white dress worked so well against all of the natural greens, warm grasses, and late-summer flowers. Even with one outfit, every part of the session feels a little different because of how much the scenery changes throughout the property.

You Don’t Need to Know How to Pose

One thing Alanna mentioned during her session was how much she appreciated being posed, and this is something I never want my seniors worrying about before their photos.

You do not need to show up knowing what to do with your hands, where to look, or how to stand in front of a camera. I’ll guide you through it.

Throughout a senior session, I’ll give you direction while making little adjustments along the way so everything still feels natural. We’ll mix more classic portraits with movement, sitting, standing, close-ups, and different angles so your final gallery has plenty of variety without you having to figure out what to do next.

And yes, sometimes that means putting you directly into a patch of wildflowers because I already know it’s going to make a good photo.

Golden Hour Senior Photos in Wayland, MA

I schedule outdoor senior sessions around golden hour whenever possible, when the light gets softer and warmer as we get closer to sunset. For Alanna’s September session, that meant ending the evening out in the fields just as everything behind her started glowing.

September is such a good time for this kind of session in Massachusetts because you can get that slightly fall feel while there’s still plenty of green around. It gave us a gallery that feels warm and natural without looking overly seasonal.
